Born into a low income Caucasian household in Alliance, OH. At an early age discovered an appreciation of the arts as a distraction from the dysfunctional family he was forced to cohabitate with. Upon graduation from high school, Art headed to New Jersey to attend what must be the most prestigious (and only known) comic book school in America: "The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art Inc." At the beginning of his 3rd year at the Kubert School, Art realized that the comic book flame no longer burned brightly in his psyche, so he turned his artistic attentions toward oil painting. After graduation from the Kubert School, Art's life became a fairly solitary one of retail stock jobs, drunken depression, and shattered illusions about existence. But through it all he continues to paint. Forever influenced and inspired by his observations of reality, the pop media of his youth, and a worn copy of Penthouse magazine found in an alley when he was 12 years old.
